Eb Beaded Me birthed in April 2020 by Ebonee’ Ellis an Illinois native born and raised. Jewelry became a huge part of my identity at a very young age, my mother and grandmother would take trips to cities like Chicago, Indiana, and Atlanta just to shop for wigs and jewelry. I fell in love with the entire expirience but specifically adorning myself and ever since then I never leave the house without at least a pair of earrings was on the hunt for waist beads because for years upon years I wanted them but never knew the meaning of them or if Iwas "allowed" to wear themt at least a pair of earrings on I was inspired to start creating my own jewelry during covid. I had just parted ways with my job as a medical assistant with no idea what I wanted to do next but I knew I needed a break from the mudane routine that I had created. I was then sat down and forced to learn more about myself and began a journey on the road to what I later learned to be my self discovery and self love journey. Creating jewelry was my escape during the chaos. There is a free feeling about being able to decorate and adorn yourself with beautiful pieces. To me, jewelry is a statement of who you are & how you express yourself. I have always held a passion for helping others feel purposeful and confident about who they are, freeing themselves from identities and expectations placed on to them, and being a reflection of how to show up as our authentic selves. In a world where everyone tells you who you need to be and how you should look, EBM serves as a reminder that you are perfect as you are even if you are striving to be better. Specializing in hand beaded jewelry and timeless pieces custom to fit everyone.
Eb Beaded Me has created for over thousands of people all over the world and has attended many pop-up's locally. EBM has blossomed into a beautiful space that goes beyond jewelry and adornments. Creating expiriences and inspiring evolutions. Each piece is created with pure intentions & love. It is more than jewelry; it is an extension and representation of WHO you are.
Originating in Ancient Egypt, waist beads have been noted to have been worn as early as the 15th century. Waist beads were originally worn as chasity beltsworn by women as a symbol of status, wealth, fertility, and assited with posture and weight managment. It has been noted that the more intricate the design meant the higher the status of the woman. Waist beads then went on to develop into other cultures and were made popular by the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, Ghana, and other parts of Africa. Some women also wear waist beads as a symbolic adornment that can serve as a sign of wealth, femininity, and spiritual well-being. In most African cultures, waist beads are made on cotton chord with no clasp or elastic and designed to only be seen by your mate/lover . In other cultures, they are worn as adornments for dancing & body jewels.
Modern day waist beads may come in many forms and are worn based on each individual's personal cultural connection and intention for their pieces. Waist beads have become trendy and get a lot of bad reps but that does not dilute or erase the history intent behind them. Waist beads are the perfect tool for one’s healing and spiritual journey as they encourage self-love, confidence, and beauty and are meant to only be worn with intention. Set your intentions by praying over and blessing your beads and wear them how YOU .
Amongst being a beautiful way to adorn the body, other benefits waist beads bring include:
•Boosting Self Confidence & Self- Esteem

•Embracing Our Womanhood

When Ordering Body Adornments, You Must Specify Your Size
Be mindful when measuring while on your period/menstrual cycle. Bloating can cause you to measure higher than needed. Inaccurate measurements will cause delay in processing.
I know tying on your waist beads can be intimidating but I promise it is not as difficult as it may seem. Take your time while tying , it requires a little patience.
1.) Wrap your waist beads string around your desired waist area like a belt and measure it . Be sure to leave enough room for bloating and bending. Two fingers in between space is recommended.
For weight loss, measure above the belly.
2.) Once measured, move excess beads over to the end making sure they are not in the way of cutting. Cutting too much will result in shortage of the waist bead so please be careful while measuring.
3.) Ensure there are no gaps in between the beads and then tie 6-8 time or desired amount to feel secure.
4.) Cut off excess strings and beads. You may discard the excess beads, or you can turn them into an anklet (if you have enough extra beads left)
